Trip Legs by State: Miles, Fuel, and Documentation

Why legs matter

IFTA allocates tax by miles in each member jurisdiction. On the trip detail page, add one trip leg per segment with miles assigned to the correct state or province.

What to enter

For each leg, record route context (from or to locations as needed), miles, jurisdiction, and fuel purchased in that leg when applicable. Fuel fields support gallons and cost for your records.

Receipts and photos

Where the app supports photo uploads on a leg, you can attach images of fuel receipts or other documentation so evidence stays with the trip.

Totals

Leg miles should reconcile to the trip total you expect. The detail view helps you compare leg sums to the overall mileage for the trip.
